sunshine, moonshine, either one will do fine

A jam. For Tuesday.

Dear Chipotle Billboard,

You drive me crazy. "Not a drug, yet still addicting." Or something like that. Really? Reeeeeally? Ugh. Your wording is poor. Your food, delicious. Your billboard, too close to my home to be ignored.

Addicting = WRONG.
Please revise the gerund (AKA action verb, present participle, what have you) "addicting" to the adjective "addictive" and I shall be happy.

Good grammar. Not a drug, yet still addictive.

Is it lunchtime yet?

No, no it's not. It's only 10:30.

Poo.

I'm meeting Ms Perry for lunch today--for which I'm excited. I haven't seen in here what seems like forever (except for during our soccer games). I haven't really seen anyone recently. I feel detached from the few friends I have here. And I don't like that feeling.

Lately, I've been feeling out of shape, I've been gaining weight, and I feel constantly injured and sore. And I don't like those feelings either.

Time to get my life back to normal. Time to give up soccer for a season (sadface). Time to work on strengthening my knee. Time to eat better. Time to make more time for friends, and more time for sleep, and more time for taking care of myself.

Ahhh time...there's never enough of that shit.

Update: Lunch plans are out. Alas. next time!

I haven't decided if I like...

...Matt Wertz. I think I do. He's got a good voice, but I think his stuff might be a bit too sappy for regular listening.

...small talk. Sometimes it makes me feel good to strike up a random conversation with a stranger and smile and fake being happy. Sometimes it makes me happy. Other times I'd prefer they had just kept their mouth shut and that I had done the same.

...Phở. I think I like it. I've only had it once. Meat? good! Noodles? Good! Broth? Meh. Kinda sweet and odd tasting to me. I'll try more soon.

...leggings. Cute-ish. Ugly-ish. Undecided-ish.

Pumpkin Spiced Pleasantries

As you may recall, one of my most favorite things about Fall is all of the pumpkin-flavored goodies and treats. Well, after a 2.5 mile walk to work today, I stopped into Peets coffee to get a plain ol' black coffee. Then I saw that they now offer a pumpkin spice latte as well (just like the 'bucks). So duh, I got one!

Nummers.

Anyhoo, while I was waiting for my delicious pumpkiny treat, a homeless man came in and bought a black coffee with his change.

He was friendly and joking with the employees, clearly a regular. Then he came over to the creamer station where I was standing in anticipation of my pumkin goodness.

"Time for the science experiment part" he said as he eyed the creamer and sugar options.

"Just put everything in there, that's the way to do it." I told him.

Then he laughed a good, deep laugh and reminisced about science experiments "just like when you were in 7th grade, remember those days?"

Once I had my pumpkin perfection in hand, I wished him a good day and left. But it made me kinda sad. Hearing him talk about 7th grade, and thinking about my own experience in 7th grade....I wondered where his life had changed.

And this isn't to say to say he struck a cord with me and now I look at every homeless person differently...but it made me curious. He was so nice and friendly, and so happy to have his coffee. Next time perhaps I'll treat him to a Pumpkin Spice Latte and giggle with him some more.

However, as I never go to Peets (except today for some reason), I'll probably never see him again.

vanity at its stupidest

a little rant perhaps. you see...i've been pulled over for speeding before. but i assume it's because i did something wrong like sped, or sped a lot.

never in my brain does the thought "O.... M....G.... I got pulled over because I'm so like totally pretty" run through my head. Though, to be fair, I AM so like totally pretty.

back to the point, this article talks about Dasha (yes Dasha) of washington who feels she gets pulled over often because she is so pretty. she believes this so much so that she wrote a sign in her back window saying "ATTN: police please do not pull me over because I'm pretty."

wow.

i mean, no matter what the reason was they pulled you over for, do you REALLY think putting that sign in your window will help? not to mention how vain it seems. The "vanity" plate with your own name really adds to the magic here.

Oh Dasha, we can all learn from you...and your 5 year old handwriting.

ATTN: police please don't pull me over because you think I'm Dasha.

You have to leave the ground to learn to fly.

Yes. Another music post. But this one I just heard. Lyrically lovely.

I'm headed home today after spending 3 nights in Whitefish, Montana. It's a beautiful town. So scenic. The lodge the annual meeting was at was GORGEOUS. Right on the lake. A view from window. Huge room. Really just lovely.

And you know what? Montastic was so darned busy she never left her room and even walked down to the lake, which is but a hundred yards away. Sigh.

There is definitely something to be said about that "stop and smell the roses" nonsense. Because I just didn't have/make time to do amidst all my crazy work schedule. So I told myself I'd come back here on vacation. Wait a second, no, I probably not won't. Not for a while. Not until I can afford it. Not until I have time for vacation.

Smile darling, you're a worker bee.

In other news, the half a cow I ate last night will be processing in my stomach for weeks to come.

Moooooooo.
