So, I have this friend...

and this friend has gone on a couple dates with a person he/she met on the internet. Now, suppose this friend wanted to make up a cooler story of how he/she met this new guy/girl, what would a good story be?
You know, hypothetically speaking of course...

You could...I mean your friend could say he/she picked him/her up in a bookstore. Wait, no, that never actually happens ;). I'm thinking he/she saw him/her freezing at a polar bear plunge and just couldn't resist putting his/her arms around him/her. Awkward but sweet.

Chase's story would be cool, if you had shown up to the Polar Plunge!!!

Anyway, what's wrong with meeting someone on the Internet? I mean, in this day and age it's just as viable a location to meet someone worthy as a bookstore (say, you meet in a chat room on an author's Web site), a bar (Match.com, good for one night stands), a singles mixer (eHarmony), a coffee shop (uh, MySpace...). You get the idea.

I've met people on the Internet, and only a few of them were actually 53-year old men. One of my friends, her current boyfriend was introduced to her via the Interwebs. So, what's the problem?

You have to detach yourself from this outdated, traditionalist mindset of you're a loser if you meet someone on the Internet. Silly. You're a loser because it was 3 am when you met him on the Internet. I mean, when your friend met this guy/girl on the Internet/Intraweb.
